Have your say on road policing
POLICE will be offering advice to residents next week about road safety.
A road user Police and Communities Together (PACT) meeting will take place on Monday 2nd August between 9am and 3pm at ASDA in Fulwood, Preston.
Road Policing Sgt Dennis Nicholson said: “The road user PACT meeting will provide members of the public with the opportunity to have their say on road policing in their locality and tell us where they would like to see action.
“We are committed to tackling the issues that matter most to the local community and want to work with residents to truly understand what is important to them and find long term solutions.
“There are many agencies that are committed to working together for the benefit of all communities across Lancashire and this event will allow residents to meet the different agencies and get advice around all aspects of road safety.”
Boots Opticians have also been involved in the event to promote the importance of regular eye tests for road users.
Gordon Dingwall, Divisional Opticians Manager, Boots Opticians said, “Boots Opticians is delighted to be taking part in these road shows, as we are hoping to help highlight how important it is for people to get their eyes checked regularly, particularly if they own a vehicle. So many people drive without realising that they actually need glasses, so if anybody hasn’t had a check for over two years then I strongly advise them to book an appointment today.”
