Residents invited to police open day
POLICE in Bamber Bridge are set to hold a community open day to give local residents an insight into their work.
The open day will take place between 11am and 3pm on Saturday 7th August at Bamber Bridge Police Station.
Sergeant Shirley Osborne, organising the event said: “We would encourage as many people as possible to come along to this event. It is going to be a really fun day and there will be lots of activities for people of all ages to get involved in, all for free.”
During the day there will be the opportunity to meet local police officers, gain an insight into the range of departments within the police and find out more about the work that they do.
There will also be police cars and bikes on display, an opportunity to visit the cells, try on police uniform and have your fingerprints taken.
For the younger members of the community, there will be a face painting and a colouring competition, as well as barn owl display and various freebies to take away.
Along with the police, there will also be members of other agencies taking part including the Fire Service and South Ribble Leisure Services.
The event is open to everyone and is free to attend.
